1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using JotCV, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

JotCV is an AI-powered resume builder platform. We provide tools including resume creation, ATS checking, job matching, AI writing assistance, and resume sharing. Features available depend on your plan.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

4. Free Period

JotCV is currently free for everyone during our launch period: every feature is available at no cost and no payment details are required. When that period ends, the free plan's monthly limits will apply and the paid plans shown on our pricing page (Pro at ₹49/month, Student at ₹29/month) will begin. We will email you in advance before any billing starts, and you will never be charged without agreeing to it.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use JotCV for any unlawful purpose; (b) upload content that is false, misleading, or infringes on third-party rights; (c) attempt to reverse-engineer or copy our platform; (d) use automated tools to scrape or abuse our services.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of the resume content you create on JotCV. By using our service, you grant us a licence to store, process and display your content in order to provide the service, and — as set out in section 7 — to improve the AI features behind it. We do not claim ownership of your content, we do not publish it, and we do not show it to other users unless you share it yourself.

7. AI Features, Processing and Your Consent

(a) Third-party AI providers. Our AI features — writing help, resume parsing, ATS scoring, job matching and cover letters — run on large language models operated by third parties (currently Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic and DeepSeek, and other comparable providers we may add). By using these features you consent to us sending the content needed to produce your result — such as your resume text and the job description you paste — to those providers, who act as our processors and are bound by their API terms.

(b) Improving our AI. You consent to JotCV using the content you create and the signals you generate — resume text, job descriptions, ATS results, ratings and feedback — to develop, evaluate and improve our AI features, models, parsers and scoring. We remove direct identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number and profile links wherever practical before content is used this way, and we work with it in aggregate.

(c) We do not sell your data. We never sell or rent your personal data or resume content, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers. Your privacy is our priority. Consent under (b) is about making the product better — never about monetising your information.

(d) Opting out. You can withdraw your consent under (b) at any time by emailing support@jotcv.com from your account address. Every feature continues to work as before. Withdrawal applies going forward; content already de-identified and aggregated cannot be traced back to you and cannot be withdrawn from that aggregate.

(e) Accuracy. Content generated by our AI tools is provided for your use and editing. You are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and personalizing AI-generated content before using it in job applications. JotCV makes no warranties about the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated text. See our Privacy Policy for full detail on how your data is handled.

8. Intellectual Property

The JotCV platform, templates, and branding are owned by JotCV and protected by copyright law. Our templates are licensed for use in resume creation only — you may not redistribute them as standalone design assets.

9. Deletion and Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your settings. When you do, your account and everything in it — resumes, cover letters, applications, your portfolio and any share links — is hidden immediately and stops being reachable by anyone. You then have 30 days to change your mind: sign back in with the same credentials and all of it is restored. After 30 days it is permanently erased. Deleting an individual resume, cover letter or application works the same way. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

JotCV is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that use of JotCV will result in job offers, interviews, or any specific career outcome. We disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

JotCV shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to JotCV in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. We will notify you via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
