1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, and resume content. We also collect usage data (page views, feature interactions) to improve our services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve our services — including our AI features, as described in section 4 — to send transactional emails, and to communicate with you about updates. We never sell or rent your personal data, to anyone, for any price. Your privacy is our priority, and nothing below changes that.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices and store data on secure, SOC 2-compliant infrastructure. Resume content is stored in encrypted databases and is accessible only to you unless you explicitly share it.

4. AI & Your Data

Processing by AI providers. Features such as AI writing, resume parsing, ATS scoring, job matching and cover letters are powered by large language models. To produce a result we send the relevant parts of your content — for example your resume text and the job description you paste — to third-party AI providers acting as our processors (currently Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic and DeepSeek, and other comparable providers we may add). They process it to return the result and are bound by their API terms, under which content sent through paid API access is not used to train their public models.

Improving JotCV's own AI. By creating an account and using JotCV, you consent to us using the content you create and the signals you generate — resume text, job descriptions, ATS results, ratings and feedback — to develop, evaluate and improve our AI features, models, parsers and scoring. Before content is used this way we remove direct identifiers (name, email address, phone number, postal address and profile links) wherever practical, and we work with it in aggregate. We do not publish your resume, and we do not make your content available to other users.

You can opt out. If you would rather your content was never used to improve our AI, email support@jotcv.com from your account address and we will exclude your account. Every feature keeps working exactly as before — opting out costs you nothing.

What we never do. We never sell your data, never rent it, and never hand it to advertisers or data brokers. AI improvement is about making the product better for you, not about monetising you.

5. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who make JotCV work — hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics and the AI providers described in section 4 — each contractually obliged to keep it confidential and to use it only on our instructions. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Anything you publish yourself, such as a public portfolio or a resume share link, is visible to whoever has the link until you turn it off.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain session state. We may use analytics cookies to understand how our product is used. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can do this from your account settings or by contacting us at support@jotcv.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA/UK, you also have rights under GDPR including portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account — or a single resume, cover letter or application — it disappears from the product immediately and any public links stop working at once. We keep it for 30 days so that you can undo a mistake by signing back in, after which it is permanently erased, except where retention is required by law. De-identified content already used to improve our AI, as described in section 4, cannot be traced back to you and may remain in that aggregated form.

9. Children's Privacy

JotCV is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice in the app. Continued use of JotCV after changes constitutes your acceptance.
